Student Research Poster Competition to be held at the 2025 Great Plains Water Conference

Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to attend the 2025 Great Plains Water Conference and participate in the research poster competition. Held at the Milo Bail Student Center on the University of Nebraska Omaha campus, this conference will bring together experts from Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, and North Dakota to discuss securing water resources for tomorrow.

The research poster competition will be held on Thursday, September 18. Research posters that relate to one of the following conference themes are encouraged to present:

  • Water smart communities and watersheds
  • Water quality monitoring and treatment strategies
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Wellhead protection
  • Education and outreach
  • Basin management

 

Participants will present their posters to a panel of judges as well as attendees. The judges will select the top posters to receive a monetary prize.

Awards

  • First Place: $500
  • Second Place: $300
  • Third Place: $200
  • Fourth and fifth place: $100 each
