The Water Sciences Laboratory, part of the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute and Nebraska Water Center, hosted its first Lunch-and-Learn event Feb. 15. Despite snowy conditions, 40 attendees representing industry, state and federal agencies, citizens and a cross-section of Nebraska students, staff, faculty and administrators gathered to learn about the lab’s numerous instruments and services. Lab manager Tania Biswas and staff chemist David Cassada topped off the program with a guided lab tour.

The university is currently offering grants to first-time faculty users of core facility research centers, which includes the lab. Applications are accepted through March 31, with the need for core services to be completed/funds used no later than June 30, 2019.
