This spring, the Nebraska Water Center will hold two virtual office hours sessions. The purpose of the virtual office hours is to facilitate research development and build connections between researchers and stakeholders throughout the state.

We encourage attendance from stakeholders who are looking for University partnerships to conduct water research, researchers who are looking for support in finding funding opportunities, and partners throughout the state and region who are interested in being more engaged in water research in Nebraska.

The first virtual office hours session will be held on Thursday, February 19, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. This initial session will include the following proposed topics:

  • 2:00 pm: Open discussion for attendees to bring research ideas and/or questions to discuss with other researchers, as well as NWC staff.
  • 3:00 pm: Derek McLean (Dean and Director of UNL’s Agricultural Research Division) will discuss the Division’s current efforts.

The second virtual office hours session will be held on Tuesday, March 24, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. This session will include the following proposed topics:

  • 2:00 pm: Open discussion for attendees to bring research ideas and/or questions to discuss with other researchers, as well as NWC staff.
  • 3:00 pm: Nathan Meier (Associate Vice Chancellor for Research, Capacity, and Competitiveness in UNL's Office of Research and Innovation) and Jennifer Nelson (Interim Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, UNL's Office of Research and Innovation) share their perspective on future funding opportunities and best practices.
