Apply for the 2023 Nebraska Water Leaders Academy
The Nebraska Water Leaders Academy is accepting applications for the 2023 class through December 1. This year-long experience provides learning opportunities that focus on cooperative approaches to solving Nebraska's water issues. Participants will grow as leaders, progress their knowledge of water and natural resources in Nebraska, and network with professionals from around the state.
Tentative 2023 Schedule
- January 19 – 20, Lincoln
- March 23 – 24, Kearney
- May 18 – 19, Omaha
- July 13 – 14, Scottsbluff
- September 14 – 15, Valentine
November 16 – 17, Nebraska City
Each session includes presentations on water issues relevant to each region, as well as a hands-on experience. Past field trips include crane viewing during the spring migration in Kearney, a float trip on the Niobrara River near Valentine, and tours of rural water projects in the Panhandle and urban water projects in Omaha.
The Water Leaders Academy is geared towards mid-career professionals involved in water resources management, production agriculture, law, media, agribusiness, fisheries and wildlife, education, recreation and environmental sciences, and more.
