The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a toll-freeWetland Information Hotline at (800) 832-7828. The hotline is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST (excluding federal holidays).

EPA information specialists can respond to requests for information about the values and functions of wetlands, options for their protection and protection efforts of the EPA and other organizations. They can also direct callers to other agencies or information sources.

The hotline is the point of contact for the Wetlands Division of EPA's Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds. The office maintains a list of publications on wetlands and wetland regulations and can send many of these to callers on request.
