UNL Water Sciences Laboratory Hosting Free Public Tours on October 12
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Water Sciences Laboratory is hosting free public tours of its analytical laboratories and equipment on Friday, Oct. 12.
The laboratory, which is part of the UNL Water Center and within NU’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, supports a wide range of water and environmental research by NU faculty statewide, as well as by other researchers nationally.
The laboratory specializes in analyzing trace organics and stable isotopes, as well as more routine methods for measuring water quality.
Faculty, staff, and students at the lab have analyzed thousands of samples at the facility to support water sciences research since it was established in 1990.
Specialized, state-of-the-art instrumentation is available for trace-level organic analyses and stable isotope mass spectrometry, as well as equipment used in more routine analyses of water quality.
Tours of the lab, located on the UNL East Campus behind Natural Resources Hall, begin at 2:30 p.m. No reservation is required. The tours are being held as part of a daylong water colloquium, but attending the colloquium is not required in order to tour the laboratory.
For more information, contact the UNL Water Center at (402) 472-3305.
