Student Research
Water law and policy are increasingly important components in the management of Nebraska’s water resources. Because of this, the Water Resources Research Initiative (WRRI) has made water law and policy an area of focus. This page was created to tap into another valuable source of academic water research at the University—our students.
Students at the UNL College of Law may choose to pursue a certificate in the Environmental and Natural Resources Program of Concentrated Study. This program of Concentrated Study consists of at least fifteen credit hours in no fewer than five upper level courses identified by a faculty member as central to the environmental and natural resources law field.
Papers posted here are academic works generated by upper-level law students who have studied or are studying water and natural resources law at UNL, under the guidance of WRRI Steering Committee Member and Associate Professor of Law, Sandra Zellmer. Students chose the topics presented here, and their works delve into current and progressive subjects related to water law affecting Nebraska and the West.
